A Message from the President

Our company’s founder, Risuke Takahashi, established the petroleum retailer Takahashi Shoten, the predecessor of this company, in 1921, and we will soon celebrate our 100th anniversary. Over the past 100 years, we have been honored with the support of many customers, and after changing our structure and company name, expanding our business areas, developing overseas bases, and converting our group companies to holdings, we have been able to achieve growth as a trading company specializing in oil, chemicals, and resins.
Ahead of the 100th anniversary of our founding in 2021, we are focused on the next 100 years for our company, drafting a new growth strategy adapted to the trends of the times and changes in global markets, and forging ahead with building up our management systems to make strides toward ever greater growth.
In particular, we have set our sights on expansion mainly in China, India, and ASEAN countries, with growing populations due to economic development and the remarkable progress of motorization, and even in the EU and Africa, further accelerating the pace of our globalization. At the same time, we will enhance our cooperation with our group companies, SANYU REC CO., LTD. and SANYU GIKOU CO., LTD. to tackle challenges, such as improving our sales and procurement capabilities, maintaining our supply chain, and bolstering our capabilities in responding to environmental issues.
We promise to continue to provide swift support, both in Japan and at our foreign branches, as a trading company which offers technological support to satisfy customer needs and solve problems. We will continuously evolve and grow with the goal of becoming a creative company with 200 years of history that is capable of offering unique solutions based on the know-how we have cultivated in cooperation with our customers.
